"Well, because I don’t know where else to stay. It’s like this is like my home. I was a normal kid like you. But one day, I met this mysterious man in the park. He told me to follow him. And I did. Then, all of the sudden, I felt like I fell into darkness. And when I woke up, I realized that that same man was standing in front of me. He said ‘you are like me now. You’re a vampire.’ And he just vanished." Nigel explained.

"Hey, you’re telling me that you’re a vampire. Right? " I said. "Well, prove it."

"Do you really want me to prove it to you? Fine."

Nigel opened his mouth, and showed me his sharp white teeth. I froze, staring hard at his teeth, and then I let out a shriek. I quickly went out of the hospital room, and slammed into my mom who was coming towards the room.

"Mom! You will never believe this but my roommate is one of the undead." I whispered, trying to take a deep breath.

"Oh! Honey, don’t be weird." Mom said. "You don’t have a roommate."

She walked me to my hospital room, and then when we both entered it, Nigel was gone.

"See, sweet face. It was just your imagination." Mom told me.

I sighed.

"I’ve just been informed that you’re operation will be tomorrow. So, that means you have to stay the night here." Mom informed me.

Then, a voice whispered into my ears only. "Hey, Joshua. See you at midnight."
