swings."
"And you are gong to leave us here with him when you go to work. Mom? That
isn’t fair," Kayla pleaded.
Jane reassured her, "Don’t worry, I will call and check up on you guys every
chance I get."
Jane was in the bathroom applying her final touches and realizes if she
didn’t leave now she was going to be late. She ran down stairs and hugged and
kissed the girls, "Remember what I said, bye girls I love you."
After their mom left Lindsey and Kayla went into Lindsey’s room to watch a
movie. Half way through the movie they both started to drift asleep, all of a
sudden the move was over.
Kayla got up to find her uncle, trying not to wake her sister who was about
to fall asleep. She whispered through the hallways and the kitchen, "Jason were
are you?" he came out of the bathroom and stumbled around the corner. He was so
out of it, he didn’t make any sense, his pupils were dilated and he had this
hazy yet crazed look about him! He about fell over his own feet.
"Jason what is wrong with you?" she looked in his eyes and saw nothing but
emptiness; there was no warmth or love, like before.
He turned and walked into Lindsay’s room, and realized she was asleep. Jason
was about to tell Kayla something when he was interrupted buy the telephone.
"Ring, Ring, Ring!!!"
"Hello!" Kayla answered politely.
"Hi sweetie, its mom. How’s every thing going?"
Whenever Kayla talks on the phone she always had a funny habit of walking
into the bathroom.
"Well every thing is pretty good………" she paused.
"Hello, Kayla, are you there?"
"Mom please come home, ‘member the…"she went to a whisper, " pills Jason is
taking, well the bottle is spilled all over the bathroom floor!!"
"Hunny don’t worry about it. He probably just knocked them off the counter!"
But no matter how Jane told her daughter this, she couldn’t hide how worried
she truly was. "Is your sister awake?"
Kayla explained, "No she fell asleep during the movie."
"Ok then, I will be home shortly, tell your sister I love her, and you
should just try to get some sleep"
Kayla just went strait to bed.
Hearing, the screaming and crying of her uncle next to her bed awoke her.
Kayla tried to make out what her uncle was saying, but it all sounded like a
bunch of jibberish. All she could make out was Lindsay’s name. She started to
sweat, Kayla raced down stares, strait to Lindsay’s room. She fell to her
knees; all she could see was her sisters’ lifeless body lying there. Blood was
everywhere. She screamed at the top of her lungs, "JASON WHAT DID YOU
DO!!!!!!"
"I took too many pills I never realized what happened till it was to late,
it just took over my body. We got in an argument. She fell and slipped, I
didn’t mean to push her so hard." Jason explained nervously, but Kayla didn’t
listen. She dared a glance over to him but when she took a second look he was
gone.
Kayla got up and grabbed her sister, shaking her violently, trying, hoping,
she would come back but she knew inside it wasn’t going to happen. She was too
late.
She got up and ran to the phone to call 911. When she reached for the phone
she caught a glimpse of something moving in the trees. Next Page Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2001 Destiny Norris, sffworld.com. All rights reserved.
