Insomniac Poet & The Unfinished Stanza by Rick Parrish
unfinished stanzas
inspire insomnia
abruptly corrupting
a quixotic slumber
at once interrupting
sheep's count at high number
to put quill to parchment
and words disencumber
in a walking sleep clever quotes
melt all to pieces
into gushy luv puppy stuff,
verbal kinesis
of random hock-spit,
semantical thesis
and risible ramblings
shrouded as wit
under half waken shadows
evil dust bunnies creep
'round a comatose poet
forbidden from sleep
just an eye barely open
yet, hell bent to see
a stanzaical closure
his fait accompli
