But there was one more enemy. Time. The spell on the beasts would take some time to reach every beast in Deckbin. And it would only last for a limited time. He needed to raise his army. But Gonz couldn’t be too far from the castle. It had only been about a day since he left. Verd prepared to leave and defeat Gonz with his bare hands before he could raise another army. Verd put on some light armor and was walking to the door when he heard a scream. He stopped and looked around. He knew no one else was in the castle. He followed it to the bedchamber and down the secret hallway. he put his ear up to the door. Inside he heard shifting of feet. Just then it came to him. He could use his magic to enter inside!

He raised his hands and pushed. The door flung open and he saw no one inside. He walked in. he surveyed his surroundings. He saw no one so he turned to leave. Just then Goater popped out from under the desk and held his dagger to Verd’s throat. "Do as I say. Give me the key to below here." Verd reached in his pocket. Instead of pulling out the key he unsheathed a dagger and pressed it against Goater’s. There was a struggle as the two fought. Since Goater had grasp of his hands, Verd’s magic was useless. Verd shifted his weight and cut Goater’s wrist flinging the knife across the room. He broke free of Goater and readied to stab him, but Goater pushed Verd outside of the room. Verd was outraged. he ran up to the door. he could have killed Goater, and he probably should have, but he decided to let him die slow. He used his magic to shut the door.

Goater hurried to the door and tried to open it, but Verd’s magic was too strong. All hope was lost for Goater. Or so he thought until he noticed something on the floor.

Verd had mounted a horse from the stables and was already riding down the path to Getrau’ when he realized what was missing. He reached in his pocket and screamed in rage when he found that he had dropped the key to the passage below.

Tanzarian and his company where surrounded. To the left, and to the right, all around was griffins. Lock screeched as he scurried along. He had previous trouble with griffins.

"Lock!" Tanzarian began to give the orders out to his troops. "You stand behind us. When we get one stopped you finish em" Lock screeched and nodded at the same time. The battle had begun. Soldiers charged at the griffins as did the griffins themselves. Swords clashed on claws and soldiers fell as the powered villainous beasts attacked. Scower and Boar were fighting side by side. No one had fallen. No one even thought of it. But soon one man fell upon the ground of a vicious griffin. Lock scurried around screeching and casting the same magic hey had on the dragon. Derek stood high on a stump firing arrows at unaware griffins. Boar and Scower were fighting when a griffin jumped from the bushes and was upon Scower. "Scower!" Boar ran to help his friend as he lay helpless on the ground. Boar slashed at the best cutting away at its flesh.

Boar slashed all he could but could not get the beast off. The griffin grew tired of Boar so he knocked him backward to the ground. Boar landed with a thud.
