They were down, but soon got up. They knew two arrows would not save them. Tanzarian and Tank charged one while Derek and Lock fought off the others. Guards soon rushed out into the area and began to fight. Bravery, Patience, and Courage warded off these beasts with the help of Fradox. It was easy to take out a few guards, but soon a whole mob were upon them. "Tan!" Fradox broke free from a guard’s grasp and stabbed him on the ground. "We need help!" The two large vine beast warriors were not easily beaten. They were tough and could not be beaten. The spell from Verd obviously empowered these creatures. Lock and Derek had one down on his knees. Lock rushed him with his small dagger to finish it off. The warrior stood quickly and drew his ax. He lunged forward and cut the very threads of Lock’s clothing. He cowered under the tall warrior. He regained his confidence by stabbing the beast in his knee forcing him downward. Lock jumped up to its head length and took a swift thrash. This sent the Beasts head flying of as it fell to the ground. "Good going Lock!" screamed Derek. The pair went off to aid their other friends. Lock cast a new spell he had just learned from Friculon. A large ball of water towered above Lock. "Okay guys! Draw off, and go help Fradox!" The warriors were confused but they trusted Lock in his judgment. Tanzarian noticed that the loss of Xavon definitely strengthened Lock and he grew stronger throughout this pilgrimage. When the water grew bigger Lock released it. Instead of rushing at the dumbstrucken beast it floated in the air. Soon, five beings made from water jumped out of the blob and prepared to fight the beast. This was definitely the strangest spell Lock had ever cast. The beast attacked the water beings. With every slash the little men broke apart. But the large water ball in the sky produced more and more. The beast was well occupied. Lock knew that the water people could not hurt the beast but it gave them time to take care of the hundreds of guards rushing out. The vine beast may not have been the smartest beast, but it knew some things. Drawing a spear from its back it threw it up at the ball. When it was hit it exploded drenching the beast. Lock snickered to himself. He conjured another energy above his head and shot out a bolt of lightning towards the beast. It staggered helplessly as it was electrocuted to death. Lock scurried over to his comrades and helped ward off the guards. After hours of battle the beasts in the stands began to rush in. The small group of men had no chance. The angry mob approached. With their increased power they were surely beaten. As they were cornered, a small explosion broke the shouts and roars. Where the men were standing a large hole had broken through the coliseum. Shouts could be heard as about one hundred and thirty men rushed into the ring and began to fight the beasts. It was the Militan! Swords clashed against the helpless beasts. Soon after the Militan a group of strange creatures came in shooting magic everywhere. The flabbergasted Quad Squad didn’t know what to make of it. A man that resembled Friculon called back to Tanzarian and his friends. "Run!" The group of men along with the army ran into the jungle and began to follow the path they had initially taken.

The vine beasts followed closely.
