The deserts lie south of it and the mountains to the east. It was in the very center of Deckbin. Yoct itself was nothing more than a stronghold. Four big castle walls stood high above the ground. Inside, Gonz stirred in his sleep. Suddenly he awoke with a start. He looked around for his guards yet none were around. He slowly got up changing his garments back to his robe and crown. Gonz was the leader of Yoct. He was of the human race and a master with a qauterstaff. His long, black hair went down to his shoulders and he wore a long robe of red.

Gonz knocked on the soldiers chamber door. "Get up you fools!" The soldiers got up and in ranks in seconds flat. One soldier by the name of Goater saluted Gonz immediately. "Well," said Gonz, "What are you waiting for. Get on the grounds now!" The soldiers flooded out of the room. They went down a long hall until they reached the main gate were they emptied out into the castle grounds. These grounds were for a couple of purposes only. Training and war. If a battle was not fought here than they were preparing for one. All Gonz cared about was ruling all of Deckbin. Gonz’s father, Gondo, was a tyrant who conquered Yoct. When Gonz was born Gondo trained him to be a great war hero like himself. When Gondo finally died on the battle field, Gonz vowed to defeat the small group of men that did this to his father. Ever since then he has been trying to live out his fathers dream. And he is finally getting close. With the help of his new ally...

The soldiers lined up in rows outside. Gonz walked up and down the ranks eyeing down the soldiers. he stopped at one soldier who was the smallest in the group. The small soldier shuddered as Gonz towered over him. "Well soldier...what is missing in this picture." The soldier looked in every direction frantically. He stuttered out some babbling words. "Uh, well sir, the uhm uh.." "Silence!" Gonz madly eyed his victim. "Where is your weapon soldier?" The soldier looked all around himself. "I uh, I must have left it in the, uhm living quarters. I will go get it now!" The soldier an off to the castle, but was stopped short as Gonz appeared before him.

"That will not be necessary. What is your name, young one?" The soldier gained the courage to speak. "It’s Fig sir." Gonz looked toward the forest. Then the sea, followed by the mountains and the deserts. "Well Fig. I will let you pick. Do you want to die in our cells, the forest, sea, mountains or desert?" Fig broke down in tears of terror. Gonz smiled evilly at the young boy’s horror. "Well? No answer? Well I will pick. I will let the griffins eat you whole!" The soldiers watched in horror as Gonz flung Fig into the forest. "Let that be a lesson to all of you!" shouted Gonz. "If we are to win this war we need real soldiers!’ Gonz turned toward the castle. "Now march!" The soldiers aligned quickly and started walking all around in a square. Everyone of them knew that they could not mess up now. Gonz started toward the castle. He got inside and shook the dew off his boots. He walked down the Great Hall. This hall was the main hall of Yoct castle. Leading off of it were rooms, that included his study, the kitchen and dining hall. They had the lodgings for the soldiers, and himself.
