Poems
- Dryad's Song

Dryad's Song (6 ratings)
         by Andie Posey

I wake from winter's slumber.
Stretch my arms and yawn.
I rise up from the crispy leaves
And greet the spring-time dawn.

Misty fog is lifting now.
The sun's rays streaming through
The leafy branches of my tree,
Great Oak with life anew.

All around the giant roots,
New life begins to spring.
Of blossoms, leaves, and new- born babes
I lift my voice to sing.

The melody, like water.
Enchanting, flowing song.
Silvery cascades of music.
Singing all day long.

The summer sun begins to set,
The leaves turn red and gold
My oak gets ready for its nap.
Autumn wind is blowing cold.

One last song before the night,
'Neath the crescent moon.
I curl up in my leafy bed.
Summer will come soon.

Winter snow and glittery frost.
I never get to see,
For I am warmly tucked away
Inside my cozy tree.

Suddenly, the sun shines warm.
The snow soon melts away.
I rise up from fallen leaves
And begin a brand new day.
