They looked dangerous, and Jheed knew what they had in mind for supper.

"He’s woken up? Already? Its only been a few hours." One of the heads said.

"Yes, it is quite early for you to be waking up, we weren’t expecting you for another few hours." The other head said.

Jheed simply replied, "Let me go."

The heads looked at each other and laughed. "You think we let dinner go just like that? I don’t think so." The left head said, still chuckling.

"Very well then, you have chosen death." A voice from the dark said, pulling them into the void darkness. There were loud screams and yells, and warcries, and all went silent.

Suddenly a man stepped out. It was Amdir. He wielded a large broad sword, red with blood, and with that he sheathed his sword.

"Are you ok?" Amdir said, cutting his binds.

"Yes. I’ll be fine." Jheed said, rubbing his hands.

Soag, Halber, and Hiryan stepped out next. This was Jheed’s first time to see Hiryan.

He was very short, and he had stringy black hair. He wielded a two handed sword, and it was red with blood.

"We were afraid you were dead," Halber said, "we searched everywhere for you, then heard the ogre and attacked him."

"Im fine. Im just glad there were no -"

Jheed was cut off by movements in the bushes. The group looked over. There was an awkward silence.

Suddenly several more ogres jumped out of the bushes and charged at the group. Jheed jumped into the air, dodging them, and cutting off the head of one of them on his land. Hiryan dodged the sword of one of the ogres, then stabbed him in the stomach. The ogre groaned, swayed, and fell on the man. A shrill shriek came from him before he fell silent.

Amdir shot arrows of fire at the ogres, with point blank accuracy, hitting almost every ogre he aimed at. Suddenly a ogre came up from behind him and attempted to stab him in the back, but he turned around and dodged just in time, and the ogre fell on the horse, knocking Amdir over.

Halber and Soag, fighting back to back, were cornered in the forest by the ogres. They proved strong though, charging into the group of ogres sword first, and all the time wondering where Jheed was.

Fatigue was starting to get to Jheed. The ogres would not go down, and after it seemed like they were all dead, more flooded in. Jheed ducked into the bushes to catch his breath as more came in. He didn’t know what had become of the others, but suddenly he heard a yell and a thud, and he knew he had to help. He jumped up and ran towards the darkness where the sounds came from.

When Jheed got there, he saw nothing except for a small trail of blood. He heard a groan from behind him. Amdir was rubbing his head as he stood up, adding "Foolish ogres. They’re stupidity will be the end of me."

"Where is Hiryan?" Jheed said.

Amdir bowed his head, then added. "If you really want to see it, I will show you.

They went into the opening where they were first attacked, and Hiryan’s small fragile body lay crushed on the ground. "I got the ogre off and found him like this." Amdir said. "He has been slain."

They buried him where he fell. After saying a quick prayer, Amdir got up and packed his things. "We must go, Soag and Halber have been taken by the ogres, and we are falling farther behind trying to get them. We cannot waste precious time anymore.

With that, Amdir got his stuff ready, mounted Soag’s old horse, and said "Quickly Jheed, make haste! There is no time to spare.

With that, Jheed mounted his horse, and they road off into the darkness, being once again engulfed by it. Jheed had to find his friends.
