Life`s Tough.. (2 ratings) by The Pugilist
Page 2 of 2 I'm Shreya Goel..
And`ll rock the world this evening with this baby, `coz the Army had cut off
the road. And there is just us. The rivals could eat shit.
Khaled stared at me. I am used to stares. A woman reporter with a mike in
one hand and a cigarette in other isn't a welcome sight anywhere. Even with
jawans being carried away on a stretcher. But Khaled`s eye's sparkled. With a
flame that could ignite your soul then and there Milind saw me. And Khaled. He
reached for his still camera." Shreya..." .He turned towards Khaled. "Tumhara
ghar kahan hai?"
Didn't get it. But something came over Kahled and he started running. And so
did Milind. I took off too, calling out on both of them. Khaled was leaping
over boulders and sobbing, yes he was crying with all tears on his face.
He stopped at a door. The door stood while the house had crumbled. He began
to dig there. Milind tried desperately to set up the camera quick enough.
Khaled dug mechanically while grunting amidst sobs. It seemed as if he was
trying to put everything back again and forget all that had loomed ahead. 2
jawans who'd seen us chasing Khaled came onto the scene but backed a little
when they saw the camera. Milind had now begun to click snaps of Khaled.
Tomorrow this little child would make millions of Indian hearts guilty.
Khaled calmed a little bit. He looked up. He took out the pistol he'd been
searching for and shot Milind. Khaled died immediately of 13 gunshots from the
nearby jawans. Khaled was an unfortunate victim, to quote the Army, of the
mistakes of his parents.
Milind is still in the coma. I must leave. I've to address the Annual
Journalists Convention at the Taj today. Life's tough
