"You know what I mean." He said, "Just hurry to Nothelm." He put a hand on my shoulder and looked me in the eye. I noticed that he had brown eyes too. He was of the only known dark elves to have brown hair and eyes, let alone a heart swayed to good. He took his hand of my shoulder and said, "Good luck."

I looked to Lily, still in a little shock; this was happening all so fast! She came up to me and gently pressed her lips to mine, "Be careful, Nork. I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you two. I know there’s good in there. Otherwise you wouldn’t have showed up at all."

What was she talking about? I’m not a chaotically evil person. Sure, I kill people, but I do it for a price. I’d only kill another if they tried to do something bad to me, someone I’m supposed to protect, or if they have a nice prize on their head. If I don’t know them personally that is.

"Nork?" She asked, "Just promise me you’ll give your job a rest until you get Azzen safely to Redgar. And consider another path of life too?"

I sighed and said, "Anything for you, Lily." Then we embraced each other one last time. I climbed up on the horse and rode off to the south. Using the light of the moons to guide me to the powerful nation of Nothelm. I promised Lily I would keep Azzen safe, and by the witness of the Lord of Demons and Darkness himself, I would do it.
