The Princess Alone by Renee
My castle is dark tonight.
It has been dark for several years.
I let light in once in a while,
but not enough to feel it's warmth.
I glanced out the window,
peasants and children filled the streets.
Did they notice me watching?
I could'nt bare the pain,
I called upon my knights for assistance.
They responded as if I was a chore.
Am I?
Have I become so gross?
My demands were of love,
is that asking too much?
Only if you throw it away each time you get it.
I was guilty of this.
I became the monster I feared.
The taker of life, The reaper of love.
No one was left for me to harm,
only myself.
I am sorry for all that I have done.
It was too late now,
I threw it all away.
Don't take things as I have,
without a thought towards others.
For you will end up like me.
The princess alone in her tower.
