The other three agreed and nodded their heads. All glanced at the fight on the wall and saw Dillon flip into the air and shoot back down to the wall as Shinn tried to catch him with an uppercut in the air.

"What about him?" Bob asked.

"He's a smart kid. He'll catch on!" Alex answered.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Jeff said.

The four split up, heading towards their separate towers.

It had started to get dark almost immediately after Jeff had entered the tower. He had traveled down aways when it started to get darker and darker. At first, torches had lined the walls just inches away from each other. Slowly, the length between the torches went from inches to feet to yards.

Jeff decided to take no chances. He reached above his head and snatched the nearest torch from the rack and held it in front of him like a sword. Lady Luck was on his side, because Jeff soon realized it had been the last torch in the hallway.

He walked for what seemed like hours until a dim shine glittered in the distance. The stairs suddenly stopped, and Jeff started to walk on level ground. The light became brighter and brighter until he could see its source; a room, cavernous and brightly decorated with different kinds of rugs.

Four torches protruded from the corners, the flames pointing towards the middle of the room. Hanging from the ceiling in the center was a large metal chandelier. It was an open-ended cylinder with holes in the side, which lit the room brightly. On the opposite wall, across from the entrance, was a pillow on a wooden stand. Guarding it was a criss-cross wall of metal beams.

"Welcome." A deep, resonous voice bounced around the room.

Jeff dropped the torch, stomping on the flame to make it go out, grabbed his spear with both hands, and pointed it forward and Broke at the same time. "Where are you? I've come here for the key. Either hand it over or I'll take it from you! Pick your way out of this one."

"My name is Cunn. I do not believe either you or the key will leave my domain. Either leave or be killed. Pick your way out of this one."

"I'm not leaving without the key!" Jeff yelled.

"Then you will not be leaving!" Cunn blasted away from the wall where he had been camoflauged with the rugs. His skin changed from a bright pink- and orange-colored patterns of the rug he had been hiding on back to its original forest green as he detached from the wall.

He was very muscley with a manly form. On each hand were three digits with wickedly curved and razor sharp nails beginning at the tips of each finger. Both feet were shaped like a raptor's, both digits in the front ending equally shrap nails, also curved, but longer. Cunn's head was sphere-shaped with a single eye in the middle of its forhead. It had no nose, but its mouth was wide with sharp teeth lining the inside in two rows.

Jeff rolled to the side as Cunn zipped by, a punch leading his flight. Cunn twisted, sighted, and kicked off the wall towards Jeff. This time, Jeff was ready. He faked to his left, and, as Cunn kicked the empty space where Jeff had been less than a second before, Jeff leaned back to his right. Before Cunn could fly by, Jeff spun around and caught him under the chin with an elbow shot. Cunn was sent careening to the point in the wall where the ceiling and sidewall met. Cunn fell to the ground and lay motionless. The back of his head was cut open, and a bruise was already starting to form. Jeff catwalked over to him, spear at the ready. Cunn rolled, smiled, and darted to his feet as Jeff brought the point of his spear down heavily. As Cunn back hopped away, Jeff pulled a water bomb from his vest and pitched it at Cunn. It exploded against the wall left of Cunn and sprayed onto his face. Cunn screamed and clutched at blisters that started to form on the edge of his eye and the left side of his face.

As Jeff watched, the guard demon's eye changed color. It turned black, just like Shinn's had, and Broke.

Angrily, Cunn back hopped away, heading towards the opposite wall. From behind one of the curtains, Cunn pulled a spear. It was nothing like Jeff's but still as dangerous. Perched at both ends of the shaft was a long, sharp demon steel blade. Both resembled a sword blade, and were both just as dangerous as one.

Cunn laughed, a high-pitched laugh that seemed a bit out of place coming from him, and charged. Jeff also sprinted forward, and the two met in the middle. The spear blades always seemed to meet each other in the air, and never made contact with the other enemy's body. Finally, Cunn jumped back, rolled in midair, and brought the instep of his foot up under Jeff's chin. Jeff was sent back the way he had come, and slammed into the wall. The curtains cushioned his landing, though very little. He sunk to a knee, both hands clutching the spear for support. He finally regained his stature and stood. Cunn was on the other side of the room, laughing. Jeff shook with rage and charged.

Thinking that anger was clouding Jeff's judgement, Cunn waited until the last possible moment before leaping out of the way. He started his flight to the other side of the room.

Jeff, thinking quickly, spun so his feet met the wall. He kicked off and shot towards the unsuspecting demon.

Cunn was still chuckling when the blade of a spear appeared and started growing out of his chest. The pain was unbearable, a burning lance that would not cool. He screamed and fell to the ground.

Jeff watched as Cunn tumbled to the ground like a shot bird, lanced by an arrow. Jeff felt no remorse as he heard the demon scream a death scream and hit the ungiving stone floor.

Cunn tried desperately to yank out the spear. He could not, for lack of blood, and therefore, lack of strength. His body went limp against his will, and everything went black.
