Alex kicked off the wall and grabbed a glowing orb that hung from the ceiling by a chain. She swung on it for a second before she yanked. The chain came down with the orb, providing a light for passage down the slowly darkening staircase.

As Alex traveled down the stairs, she noticed old orbs that were now either in the process if burning out (flickering, struggling to stay alive) or already burned out.

The stairs suddenly disppeared into a flat hall. She came to a closed wooden door, worn and splintered. Alex opened it cautiously, and was immediately hit by a wave of light.

The door opened to a bridge. The bridge was stone, held up by arches over... nothing. Alex looked over the side and found she couldn't see the bottom. She looked up, left, right; nothing anywhere except in front of her. At the far side of the bridge was a wall. At the end was a cage built into the wall. A key, gold and shining, lay on a stone mantle.

Out of nowhere, a pink form floated down from above. She would have almost looked like an angel if it hadn't been for the two white fangs that poked out between her lips. A white tail, puffy like a fox's, protruded from her lower back. Her arms were slender and crossed over her chest, her legs thick and womanly. It was obvious she had breasts, but a light pink fur grew from her skin and covered her body. She stood still as a statue, eyes closed, stern-faced.

"Try and guess my name. If you are correct, I'll let you die quickly. If you are wrong, then you will die slowly and painfully."

"Foxlady? Demonite? Moron? Am I getting nearer?"

The pink demon let a smile play across her face. "Not even close, short one." Alex's face turned red. "My name is Lee. It seemes you will die slowly and painfully."

Alex stepped back into her practiced fighter stance and Broke. "Try me."

A pink blur suddenly burst toward her. Alex spun and launched the light orb. Lee punched through it, sending shards of the light ball everywhere. Before she could recover, Alex sailed in with a strong jump kick. Lee was sent screeching back the way she came. She was able to regain control before she hit the wall; Lee kicked her legs over and bent her knees as she hit the wall.

Alex stood smugly across the bridge. "Can't you do better than that?"

Lee snarled and pushed off. She sped through the air, landed running, and commenced kicking and punching at Alex. She tried to spin kick the bite-size Hunter, but Alex was too quick. As Lee brought her leg around, Alex grabbed her tail and yanked. Lee's back was facing Alex now. Alex rolled back and sent Lee flying once again. She jumped to her feet and spun around.

"I guess not."

Lee flipped in midair and landed once again. She smiled as she came up with a plan. She took off toward Alex, her fist cocked back. She met Alex, counting for her to be in the air. Alex was. Lee ducked under Alex's waiting foot and rolled. She stopped abruptly, jumped to her feet, and wrapped her arms around Alex's midsection. Alex, her arms restricted, struggled and kicked, but to no avail. Lee walked to the edge of the bridge and tossed her over. She turned away and waited for Alex's body to hit the bottom. When she heard nothing, Lee turned. Alex floated, huffing, and red in the face.

"I can fly, too, you know."

Alex shot at Lee too fast for her to react. The impact of Alex's punch was both phenominal and deadly. The initial impact was strong enough break Lee's jaw, but the follow-through made her head whip so hard to the side, it broke her neck.

As Alex shot by, Lee spun once and fell off the bridge into oblivion.

The gate at the end of the bridge opened, freeing the key. Alex strolled over and snatched the key from the mantle and slipped it into her vest.

Whistling, Alex managed to make her way up the staircase, even through the dark.

Bob hummed to himself as he made his way slowly down the stairway. It was easy enough, however dark. The stairs were winding, but the walls were smooth. Bob kept one hand on the wall as he walked carefully.

A hand appeared onhis shoulder, and Bob immediately grabbed. He spun, twisting it behind a man's back, and yanked up.
