Tumol Town Terror (4 ratings) by Guy Rider
Page 3 of 4 The two jogged for a while before stopping to take a breath. The only reason
they stopped was because of the giant metal fence blocking their way out. From
what they could see, a length of barbed wire lined the top, a current of
electricity surging through it.
"Dammit!" Zack roared. "Can't we get a break around here?" He fell to a
knee. "First the zombies, then the loss of almost everyone in our squadron, now
we can't even get outta the damned place!"
"Hey!" An idea sparked through Mark's head. "I say a car drive in right
before we reached the fence. Maybe the driver's still alive!"

Nilly drove through the outskirts of town and eventually in. As she entered
the city, part of a gigantic fence had dropped from the sky, multiple
helicopters setting the barricade on the ground very gently.
Nilly hit the brakes and climbed out before it could completely stop.
What the hell? she thought, What is going on here?
Seeing it was too high to climb, she stepped back into the car and drove
towards town. Besides, it had rolls of barbed wire on top. She wouldn't make it
over, anyway.
She hit the gas and rolled towards the dark city.
When she reached the mob, she found good news and bad news. The good news
was that somehow a Special Forces team had come to destroy the zombies. The bad
news was that they were being annihilated.
Sheer terror took over as she sprinted back to her car. Back through the
alleys and small streets. Nilly stopped cold in her tracks. Raising her gun,
Nilly pulled the trigger. A zombie that was banging on the windows exploded
into bloody pieces.
Nilly jogged towards the car. As she opened the door, a zombie charged
around from the other side of the car around the front. Nilly's gun zipped up,
firing two shots.
The head of the zombie zipped by her arm, cutting her shoulder open. It
wasn't deep; it was barely bleeding.
"Hey!" a voice called from behind her.
Nilly whipped around, gun raised, loaded, and cocked.
The two men held up his hands.
"You human?" Nilly yelled.
"Yeah. What about you?"
"Human."
They dropped their hands and Nilly pointed the gun to the ground.
Mark and Zack Sprinted towards the car. "Does this thing still work?" they
asked in unison.
"Yeah," Nilly answered.
"Then let's get in."
Moaning and yelling steadily grew louder.
Tearing around the corner, a crowd of zombies charged towards them.
"Oh, God!"
They jumped in the car. Mark happened to be in the driver's side and had no
problems starting the car.
Kicking the car into gear, Mark floored it towards the fence. The fence gave
way without much problem.
Beep! Mark hit the detonator. Fireworks exploded behind them. All of
the zombies were taken out in the first wave of explosions. The second and
third wave decimated the city, leaving nothing but ashes.
"It's over... it's over..." Nilly repeated with tears streaming down her
face.

After hours of driving west, Mark stopped the car for a pit stop.
Before she had gone to sleep, Zack had explained the experiment to Nilly.
The Chemical H had been designed to put people in a state where a key word
could trigger the mind affected by the chemical, making them a hypnotized
slave. A person could say the key word and have complete control of a person
with Chemical ZR in their system.
Unfortunately, the experiment had gone horribly wrong, killing the patient.
Not only did it kill the patient, but resurrected them as flesh-eating zombies.
Why the zombies acted as cannibals, the scientists could not figure out.
Soon, the scientists found out that the chemical could be spread by the bite
of a zombie. As long as any blood was drawn, they could turn anyone into
zombies. Even a scratch that drew blood could turn a normal person to a
zombie.
The zombies had been put in confined barrels and were supposed to have been
disposed of at a warehouse that was actually laboratory south of Tumol. The
semi had been heading there when it crashed, causing barrels to break open,
thus releasing the zombies. Next Page Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2001 Guy Rider, sffworld.com. All rights reserved.
