"How do you intend to do that? I can’t see anyone of you here! And how can you do this?" he shouted in his mind. The voice laughed, and evil, merciless laughter that made him sweat, and tremble.

"Do you know anything at all? Magic, boy, magic. I can see you right now. I can see you tremble. I can see you turn around to see if we are there. I can see where your eyes are moving, I know everything. Are you sure you don’t see us? Have you looked good enough?"

He turned around again and tried to see more in the dark. Was there really some shadows in between those trees? What was that, in the middle of the meadow? When he realized that the shadows were moving, he changed direction and started to run again. The roaring laughter echoed in his mind and made him stumble and fall. He got up, terrified, and ran on. The shadows moved faster now. It felt like his heart was in his throat, and he hardly saw where he was running. He stumbled again, and again, as if they were making fun of him. There was nothing there that could have made him stumble. It had to be magic.

He was about to give up when he saw two dark shapes came closer. He almost felt the evil in them, and got up. He stumbled again, and fell hard. Then, suddenly, a great pain came upon him, and he groaned. He hardly saw that the two men reached him, but he felt it when they grabbed his hands. Pain surrounded him and made him scream. He had never been a coward, he had never complained when he was in pain before, but this was worse than he ever could have imagined. He gasped for air and tried to get away from their grip. They laughed at him.

"Thamonu, Thamonu, how could you even imagine that you would get away?" one of them said, smiling. He backed away from them, but they didn’t release their grip.

"Please!" he begged and cried out again. "Please…"

They laughed again, but some of the pain was gone. He sighed and tried to get control over himself again. It wasn’t easy. But then he saw that their eyes was focused somewhere else, and took the chance. Suddenly he jumped up and ran as fast as he could. He could hear them shout behind him.

He almost couldn’t believe it when he reached the forest, and when he almost had ran through it. At the end of it, just beside the foot of the mountains, he sat down to rest, smiling. "I managed it! I got away!" he sighed, and grabbed his bag to find some food. He was hungry after the long run.

"Got away from what?" a well-known voice said. A stern man stood beside him, in a green uniform with the letters KT in black. He recognized the voice. The voice who had been in his head. The man looked down on him.

"Welcome, Thamonu. As I said, we would get you." Strong arms reached down to him, but he backed away.

"Leave me alone!" he shouted at the man, who leaned causally towards a tree. He smiled, but his eyes were cold.

"Well, get away then, if you can." Thamonu now realized that he couldn’t move. Suddenly he fell to the ground.

He heard that the man laughed at him again, but then everything became black.
