The adventure of James and Kyle

"Come to the back with me," said the old man. Though reluctant, James and Kyle followed him. This room they arrived in was filled with scrolls, maps, and drawings. One drawing in particular caught the eye of Kyle. It showed two men, one dawning a sword, one with a pair of gauntlets. He would’ve ignored it otherwise, but the two men looked much like James and he. The old man was silent. "What do these drawings mean," asked Kyle. The old man smiled at them, "those are pictures of your destiny." The old man then explained that they would soon come upon a wonderful gift. To one, great strength and agility, and to the other, the cunning and quickness of a Samurai. He explained a journey that they would soon partake in. He told of the 26 Keepers of the Crystals. He explained that the crystals were not in good hands. They were the Crystals of Righteousness, once protected by their ancestors, but were stolen by the evil Kobrakai. The Kobrakai are a force not to be reckoned with. Until now that is. He explained that they were direct descendants of Kyurackus and Jaluke, who were killed, because they gave the stones to Kobrakai, betraying the Order of Righteousness. He told them that their tools would call to them in 3 days. He told them to leave, and then he mysteriously vanished.

The next day both James and Kyle were in shock. Of course with the events that took place the night before who could blame them. If what the old man said was true then from this moment on there lives would never be the same again. "Do you think all of this is true?" Kyle asked James. "I…I don’t know." James responded. "Well," Kyle said, "If it is then we will have to stick this out together." "And if it isn’t?" James asked. "Then we live our lives as normal." Kyle answered.

Day 1

That was about all that was said that day. There wasn’t much to say. All that they could do is wait to see if the old mans predictions had come true. The next morning came all too early to James and Kyle. They awoke to a loud bang coming from the attic. James jumped out of bed and turned to Kyle. "What the hell was that?" he screamed. "Beats me?" Kyle responded. The both scrambled to the steps, nearly tripping on the pile of shoes in the doorway. "Whatever it is, it is in the kitchen." Kyle said. James took off up the steps without hesitation. (See, James is the brash type. He always rushes into things with fists swinging, while Kyle is the think things through before you act type.) James didn’t even make it to the top step before an arm came flying out from the side of the steps, hitting James right, square in the jaw. The shear power of the punch sent James back down the steps. Kyle jumped to James’ aid, but before he took a step a dagger found its way to his shoulder pinning him against the wall. Before the assailant made his escape Kyle did get one good look at the man. He was dressed in all black with a veil covering the bottom half of his face. The thing that caught Kyle’s eye was the scar on the right forearm of the dark attacker.

James gradually regained his consciousness and then proceeded to help Kyle pull the dagger out of his shoulder. "Who the hell was that?" James said while rubbing his jaw tenderly.
