Evening had fallen dark into night, faster than he had thought. He knew that it was time to get back home but he wasn’t finished exploring. Walking through this jungle he saw something flickering far away. As he kept walking it kept getting closer and bigger. Maybe this was it, or maybe it was something else but he wasn’t going to turn back now. But suddenly he heard something loud and eerie. Now more frightened than curious he decided to go back home and come back some other time. As he was turning he heard some noise again and felt this dreadful pain in his head for something or someone had hit him and he fell unconscious. Several hours later he was awakened by more sounds perhaps of birds chirping, finding himself in pool of his own blood. Trying to get up he felt this excruciating pain coming back to his head and fell back down. Finally when it had settled down he got up holding his head to see that it was already dawn. That shining thing was gone, and near his pool of blood he saw this very large piece of wood - looked somewhat like tree’s branch. He wondered why someone would try to kill him; maybe they didn’t want him to find that shiny thing. He heard that sound again coming from up above. Looking up he noticed this baby monkey clinging on to some branches. Suddenly it was all clear to him; no one was trying to kill him this lost monkey had accidentally broken this branch which fell upon his head and those strange noises were nothing but cries for help.
