Internet Love

He knew it was crazy to feel like this, but with all the hell he'd gone through in his divorce, this just can't be taken from him. His hand ran through his hair, as he knew he had to compose himself right then and there. This could be good news today. It really could.

It had been 2 years and 1 month since the official divorce from the woman he had realized he married for all the wrong reasons. The one fortunate aspect though, was there were no kids to speak of. No pain and feelings of false guilt to be put on the innocent children. Not that Mark didn't want kids, but the career of his wife prevented that. There was no time. His dream of fatherhood never came to be. To add to all the problems with their marriage, it broke Mark's heart when he discovered why his wife had advanced so quickly up the insurance business ladder. A friend of his wife couldn't keep it a secret any longer. Her consience told her to explain to Mark what had been occuring with Melissa and her boss, friend or not. Weekly excursions together, when it was supposedely her very busy schedule. Melissa had found time to get cozy with her boss on a frequent basis. It was too hard for Mark to continue giving his love to someone that had betrayed him without regret. She was happy he had the balls to call it a marriage and move on. She moved in with her boss, and planned to marry within the year or so. Mark didn't care anymore. He had found a new, true and beautiful woman. One that was very nice to spend time with, and enjoy his companianship. It all felt right, and the two fell in the truest sense of the word... love.

It was also a plus that this woman had two children. Mark really relished in the fact that this was his time to be a father that he always dreamt of being. To play with, and help provide the man figure the children so desperately needed. Their daddy took no interest in them, and left the state with his squeeze he had been caught with. What the hell is wrong with this world, Mark continued to ask himself daily. Why can't two people stick together through thick and thin and honestly care and love one another till death do they part? Why the need to venture off into an affair of deceit that hurts all involved? It all hurt Mark. He wished happily ever after was a common reality for all people.

This woman who had captured Mark's heart was named Angela. They had spent many nights together, caring and sharing with one another. Reminiscing about the good ol' 80s, and realizing all the things the two held in common. It was a beautiful match. The one thing keeping them apart at this time, was over 700 miles.

For over a seven month period, this relationship was nothing more than an internet romance. Angela lived in North Carolina, and Mark was trapped in the confines of Wisconsin. All he had of her, was e-mail, instant messaging, web cam and sending one another various gifts. Nightly, the two would hook up, and get as romantic and sensual as the internet would allow. Plans were forming for her to move to Wisconsin, with the kids, and start her life anew.
