Angel She-wolf by Zandavia Silverhawk
Page 3 of 4 Do you know what is happening to you?"
" I was savagely attacked and somehow I am healing at an extraordinary
rate."
" True but do you know what attacked you?" He leaned forward templing his
hands, his elbows resting on his knees.
" Some wild animal according to the police and doctors."
" That's what they think, but you know. What attacked you Angel?" he said it
fiercely yet with a calmness too.
" I..I don't know what you mean?" Though she knew inside exactly what he
meant.
" Don't lie to me. But worse yet, don't lie to yourself. Now once again,
what attacked you?"
She stared at him in the dark. She heard his breathing, her own, the
machines and the nurses walking around the halls. She smelled all the
underlying things that most don't smell in a hospital.
" I...it was a werewolf." She felt better and silly at the same time.
" Yes, it was. He is a rogue wolf from Europe. We haven't been able to find
him until now. You, Angel Blackman, are his only survivor. We don't know why,
but we do know that now we have a chance to catch him and make him pay for his
crimes."
" Are you telling me that werewolves are real and that..that I am going to
be one."
" No, I am telling you that you are one. Now and until you die unless
someone discovers your secret and kills you. And you must keep it secret. There
are many out there who fear us and vampires and all the others." She was
sitting up now.
" Wait one damn minute!" She shook her head and ran her hands threw her
hair. " You're telling me that all the bogeymen and monsters are real? What
kind of drugs are you on? Get out. Get the hell out!" She began to scream and
throw things. Suddenly the nurse and an orderly came rushing in.
" Make him leave!" Angel screamed pointing at the now empty chair.
" Who?" The nurse asked. Angel looked at the chair. He was gone, but how and
when?
" Sorry it must have been a nightmare."
"Want something to help you sleep?"
" Thank you no. I'm sorry." She nodded at Angel then left with the orderly.
He returned a few minutes later and cleaned up the mess.
Angel fell back to sleep but it was fitful sleep and full of nightmares.
When she woke in the morning it was to the sound of her grandmother's voice.
The woman wasn't even in the room and the door was closed but Angel heard her.
A few minutes later Hanna walked in all smiles.
" Hi sweetheart. Doctor says you can go home today." Angel nodded then
slowly got out of bed. She stopped when she realized she still had the IV in
her arm. Just then the doctor and a nurse walked in.
They gave Angel another quick exam then discharged her. She dressed in the
jeans and sweatshirt her grandmother had brought with her. As she tied her
shoes a man came in with a box of chocolates.
" Angel Blackman?"
" Yes." She stood up. He handed her a clipboard. She signed it and he left.
She opened the card.
" You'll change your mind come the full moon. Here's my cell and pager
numbers. KEEP THEM! Chad."
" Who's it from dear?" Hanna asked with a soft smile.
" One of the counselors from school. Let's go granny." Angel grabbed her
bags as Hanna and the nurse gathered up the flowers, balloons and stuffed
toys.
Angel and Hanna were quiet on the ride back to Angel's place. Next Page Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2001 Zandavia Silverhawk, sffworld.com. All rights reserved.
