Near Dark (8 ratings) by K. Rhianna Sulock
wake me when the deep night falls
and leave this dreamless sleep
the cavernous echoes from the walls
the darkness of the deep
the humid breezes beckon me
wake me when the daylight comes
the safe dark burned away
the light it shines throughout my room
and keeps the pain at bay
a searing kiss to burn me
wake me when the winter fades
and the bulbs of spring
are flowers now a fiery bloom
in the garden breeze they sing
riotous color, dancing fae
wake me when the summer shines
warmth like gold, scent of hay
the feel of earth, a taste divine
in the fields we dance the way
our mothers did of old
