- The Tale That Told The Earth

The Tale That Told The Earth (3 ratings)
         by Maria Teresa

On the other side of the world,
where giants and gnomes no loger existed
but they were part of earth , burried
the saddest story was told.

It was said that during the war
that lead this world to chaos
a young soldier traveled very far
to fight amongst his brother's side.

He did not rest, he walked many miles
he crossed the seas and fountains
until he found his brother's army
on top of the tallest mountain.

"Oh! Brother" he finally said
while he held happiness' tears
"I feared thou were dead"
he added, hugging his mentor.

Since this, passed many months
and the army, that now was his as well
won battles, trying to save the world
but to one, it finally fell.

Catastrophy, then, invaded earth,
as there lied the young soldier
holding his mentor's head
for on the ground lied, his dear brother, dead!.

A tear shot his cheek,
and he held tight his sword
"With this blade I'll avenge thee"
"With this blade", he swore.

He screamed then, in anger;
in anger and the worst sadness
he let a yell get lost in the mess
that held the broken earth.

He started to run, bleeding,
for he had a deep wound,
he ran through countries, seeking
searching for his brother's evil murder.

As years passed, the young soldier grew
he grew to see this world's end
and the reborn of that one called new
while he held the sword that killing intended.

He sat on top of that mountain,
the tallest one, it used to be;
now it was the only one that existed
after the terrible catastrophy

He wandered why it had survived
to what nothing else could
the earth only held it, and him, by its side,
with the marks of that previous wound.

He recalled the day he met it,
the day he found the army
he smiled as his brother's face grew brighter,
in his dark and sad memories.

He longed for his brother's smile
he, no longer had tears in his eyes
but his heart was swollen with them
and his fist gripped the past, tight.

It was on that mountain when he saw
what he had been blind for
the only way to save this world
and the previos world in war.

The only thing he had to do
was lo let his brother live,
through his heart and soul;
and become one with him.

It was then when flowers
peeked the sky
as he planted them,
with a very wide smile.

The young soldier now had become a man
he had rebuilt the soil, air, and sea
and he had rebuilt his brother's memory
always facing for the next plan.

That murder he did killed,
for his brother's sake, and for his will
but soon he knew it was not the way
for the right path, was straight ahead

This is a story, that in papers was held
a tale of love, and hopes as well;
a story taht now nobody tells
but the tale that told once, instead, the earth.
