If I Could See My Father Again by Serranda Thomas
If I could have one more chance
to see my father again.
This would be the fulfillment of a
lifelong wish.
I pray that I could see his smiling face
and hear his words of love once more.
If only I could see the twinkles in his eyes,
when I looked at him and smiled.
Every small girls dream, he taught me
with a gentle hand.
It would be nice to be the center of his
life again.
When I was lost, he proved he knew the
way for me to go forward.
Never a word of ridicule, he held me
above the clouds, and protected
me from the rain.
Filling my life with joy and visions of his
lovely world.
I love his memory, as I love the man he was.
