The car slowly came over the last hill. They looked through the windshield and the old abandoned buildings of the Hillside Asylum came into view. The rain came down harder but still they continued on. Being at Hillside at night wasnt exactly a pleasant experience, of course, going there during light hours was still kind of creepy, but nothing compared to night. Hillside had an Erie history, it was built in the early 20th century as a hospital for people with taberkyalosis and other major handicaps. Rumors started spreading that the patients were mistreated and beaten. There were even a few accounts of patients attacking the guards, one was attacked so brutally he was killed. The place shut down in the late 1950"s and the patients were sent somewhere else. But the buildings still remained.

The once operational Hillside Asylum was now nothing more then a wasteland. Vines and debris covered the old buildings, along with spray paint and beer cans that littered the ground. The car stopped and they turned on the light inside Scotts explorer.

"Well" Scott said, " Matt, Jim, you two lost the bet. So get in there."

"Yeah. Have a great time fellas." Justin commented as he laughed

Matt and Jim put on their coats and got out of the car and stood in the pouring rain. They looked at each other and nodded. They were going to do it, as much as it freaked them out, they did loose the bet. They walked from the car, and it wasnt long until the lights from Scotts truck faded into the distance. With each step they took, there shoes got drenched with mud. Jim zipped his jacket, trying to stay as dry as he possibly could. A loud thunder clap was heard over head followed by a bolt of lighting.

"Great, Maybe ill get hit by lighting and wont have to go in"

Matt agreed "Yeah. I dont really want to either.Oh crap!"

Before he could catch himself, Matt found himself lying face down in a deep puddle. He was soaked. Jim bent down and helped him to his feet. Not only was he freaked out, But now dripping wet.

They got to the front door and looked up. The wind was getting harsh, sticks and branches were blowing everywhere This place was huge. From the looks of it, there were 10 floors. Most of the windows were broken or damaged, along with the front door. The moved the wrecked door aside and went in. The moonlight shot through a huge window at the top of the foyer, casting shadows on the walls. There was a huge staircase in the middle that seemed to lead to the second floor. Matt took a deep breath and so did Jim. They stuck close together and started to walk around in the foyer. There was a huge grandfather clock up against a wall, covered with dust, along wit several pictures of people they obviously didnt know. Matt walked away from Jim to look around a little. There was something about the picture that mad Jim not want to walk away from it. He held a lighter and got closer. It was odd, the picture didnt look deteriorated at all. Years of being beaten by the weather didnt seem to have aged it on bit. He touched the painting and was in shock. The paint was still wet! He thought maybe the place we getting to him, but he looked at his fingers at it proved it wasnt.
