The Closet (5 ratings)
         by M. A. Tolli

Silently now you climb the stairs
Time for rest, forget your cares
You shut your window
To stop the breeze
The sweet sweet slumber is all you need

Quickly now you shut your light
And hurry into bed
Rested on the cloud like pillow
That sits below your head

With out a care you drift off
Deeply into sleep
Dreams of laughter and happiness
And money so knee deep

But little do you know my friend
What watches you, you cant see
Nor can sweet mother,
Or dear father
Or the likes of all you three

Your eyes shoot open, somethings wrong
Is it real or just a dream?
Your closet door is open
Whatever could it be?

Before you slept you closed the door
It was closed Oh so tight
But now its open, open wide
Something isnt right

Could it be mother ?
Or maybe father?
That opened the wooden door?
Unlike you their deep in sleep
And wanting for some more

Slowly now you begin to rise
And get out of you bed
You feel the room get hot
And sweat pours from your head

You know something is watching
But watching you from where
In the darkness of the closet boy I tell you now beware
