The mist (1 rating) by Bone Tyler
Page 2 of 4 Daniel was a young man and believed in the mist, he wanted to have seen them
for himself so he went along. Cordon was a man who said he saw the mist
creature known as "Golem", a being made of steel who crushes rocks under its
feet by walking and killing men by squeezing them to death. He came to prove he
wasn't insane.
The man who studied the mist was nick-named Locks, because of his long hair.
He volunteered to come along so he could verify the ancestrial writings were
true. He knew everything the ancestors claimed about the mist. They accepted
his term to come because he would be most helpful on identifying the creatures
and their capabilities.
The archer Harold was sent for shooting down winged creatures and birds. He
came because his little sister disappeared in the mountain a year before the
journey and he wanted to find out the truth of what happened to her. People
said she must have been taken by a winged horse because they found a scarf that
belonged to her and next to it were horse tracks. But the tracks disapeeared
into nowhere so assumptions came to a winged horse named "Pegasus".
The young man, Edward was forced by his father to go on the journey to
become a man, he strongly didn't believe in the mist and so was disgruntled
about the situation. His father believed in the stories and told him he didn't
have a choice. Spiteful and disgruntled he went armed with a short sword.
The men set out climbing the first mountain, reaching two thirds of the way
to the summit they found nothing so they headed for the next mountain, now
being far away from the village. After two weeks the men had found nothing, but
they still search on now at the base of the second mountain. Even though the
men are tired and frustrated with not finding anything but are determined, but
you can see the frustration eating at them.
The men had set up camp for the night, a well laid fireplace in the center
of the circular formation of men. Kiev and Micallef had already fallen asleep
and Cordon was off busy around the corner of a big rock and Daniel, Harold,
Locks and Edward sat around the fire talking.
"So what does the Unicorn do?", asked Daniel curiously.
"Well it's said that the Unicorn is a harmless creature, a majestic white
horse with a horn petruding from its head. The horn is meant to have some over
whelming healing power, they say thats why it lives forever", replied Locks
more than happy to answer.
"And there's only one of them?", asked Daniel.
"Well seeing how only a few people have seen it and all have the same
description, that's the assumption they came to", replied Daniel.
"Tell me about the creature that Cordon said he saw", ordered Daniel.
"From the description that he conferred it must have been a Golem, a
creature made of steel with human features, they say it was responsible for the
desication of cattle a few decades ago. They are large beast and people don't
believe in its existence".
"What about the flying ones?", asked Harold, "You think I could shoot them
down".
"I dont see why not, except with some of the winged creatures they are very
large and may need more than an arrow to bring them down".
"How big?", asked Harold.
"Well the Pheonix, a bird made of fire is meant to be the size of a horse,
the Griffin Is a half lion, half eagle that is the size of three men. Next Page Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2001 Bone Tyler, sffworld.com. All rights reserved.
