This story is based on my novel, Guardian Spirit:SHARHAN. It might be a little confusing to those who don't know the story, but I found it funny, so here it is from a mini series "The Sharhan Collection"

It was a stormy night on the river. Outside was a quiet rain, and the odd bit of thunder and lightning outside Dorg's window. He peered outside, ignoring the dripping which began from the roof. Finally, he turned and stared at it angrily.
"Dang old place!"He said to himself as he got a hammer and some nails from an old drawer. He stood up on a ladder and he began to fix the leak. When he was finished, he nodded in satisfaction of his work. Little did Dorg know, the ladder he was standing on was beginning to crack under his weight. He stepped down from it just in time, and answered the phone, which had just begun to ring.
"Hi, Dorg. What are you up to?"Jeff asked from the other end.
"Oh, Jeff. Nothing much. Just fixing a leak here."
"Oh, yes. It's been quite a storm tonight."
"I can tell you're outside. Could you speak up, Jeff? I'm having a hard time hearing you with all the noise."
"I said it's quite a storm. I'm in the area, so how about I pay you a visit?"
"Sure. If you want. There's nothing much to do here, though."
"That's okay. I'll be there, in say....20 minutes?"
"Alright. I'm not going anywhere. See ya."

After he got off the phone, Dorg waited for Jeff to arrive. In about 12 minutes, a knock was heard at the door. Dorg opened the door, yet no one was there. He stepped out and looked around, but found no one. Puzzled, he went back inside. 10 minutes later, Jeff came to the door. Dorg asked him if it was he who knocked, but Jeff assured him he was quite a distance away at the time in question. Jeff looked up at Dorg's repair work.
"You do quite a job. Maybe I should call you when I need something repaired."
"Yeah, well, This place is old. I got a lot of junk downstairs I still need to sort."
"Hmmm. Why don't we do it together? I was always good at that stuff."
"I could really use some help.... In a little while, okay?"
Dorg and Jeff watched the thunder storm from the window and talked for awhile. Later on, they decided to get to work in the basement.
They went downstairs, and Dorg turned on the light. Indeed, there was lots of stuff all piled up.
"Oh, boy. This could take awhile."Jeff said.
And it did. As they did so, Dorg told Jeff about some of the things he collected. Jeff pulled open a drawer of a chest which sat above some stuff, and a paper envelope fell out. It landed on Dorg's head. He took it, and looked at it.
"Dorg, what is it?"Jeff asked, noticing Dorg's expression as he read it.
"It appears to be a deed to that old castle a short distance from here. Did I really have it all this time?"
"Wow, that's quite a find! How about we go there and take a look?"
"Well, sure, I guess...."
"You sound reluctant. Tell you what, I'll get Iggy and some of the others, and we'll go together in a few days?"
"I-"
"Good!"Jeff exclaimed interrupting him."It's settled."
