Now either the floor was very slippery or I just don't know my own strength but he slammed up against the wall and left the part of the wall he hit caved in. I didn't think about it much and I quickly got up and ran down the stairs. I saw that two others were coming up and I dropkicked them. They fell backwards and fell down the stairs. I've never performed a dropkick but I've seen them in movies. Besides it was easy considering that they were lower than I was standing and all I had to do was jump down the stairs towards them. I arrived in the living room and there was nobody there. Finding no one in the living room I ran into the dining room with the baseball bat held tightly in my hands.

There I saw a three unfamiliar people. They were standing with their arms crossed in front of them and had a weird smile on their face. One of them seemed draw my attention the most. He didn't do anything different than the others but he just made me feel even more threatened. His smile made me shiver from fright. He had two other of his gang members standing beside him and my mother and father were sitting at the dinner table. My mother was crying and my father was trying to comfort her. They seemed to be unharmed but they were being held hostage.

"Let them go!" I yelled as I held up the bat higher and tighter. He just laughed softly.

"I didn't know you were so?skilled. How long have you known of your special skills?" He asked with a smile.

"What?" I asked, I had no idea what he was talking about. I just wanted him to let my parents go.

"You don't know?" He asked as in a semi-amused tone. His voice was calm, a little to calm for comfort. Usually when some one breaks into your home they are a little more anxious to get out. He was so calm it was as if he was invited.

"If I knew what you were asking me I wouldn't be asking!" I yelled at him.

"I would of thought that your parents would of told you by now." He said turning to look at my parents. "This will make things a bit more difficult." He said running his hand through his silky brown hair.

"Is there any way for her not to be a Proeliator. It's a very hard life for anyone to live. I want her to live a normal life not to be a slave to society!" Yelled my mother at him.

"Mom what are you talking about? Where's my sister?" I asked. I was feeling a little paranoid just about now I felt that my parents knew what was happening and were going along with it.

"She isn't here. She went with your Aunt Jane to the park." My father informed me. He was speaking in a very calm voice.

Is my family betraying me? What's happening? Why aren't they afraid? Are they really being held hostage or are they just meeting? I was confused and almost forgot what was happening until I heard some one approaching me from behind. As a normal reaction to this whole massive confusion I had quickly swung my bat around and when I saw it was my mother's best friend, Guy. I managed stop the bat about a centimeter away from his nose. My arms hurt from the sudden strain to stop the bat while I was swinging it with so much force.

"What are you doing here? Did you come to help?" I asked trying to calm myself. I hadn't seen him in a long time because he rarely stopped by anymore but he was trusted friend. I felt a bit relieved that there was someone here to help me get my family to safety. He took the bat from me and smiled.

"I'll take care of this." He said. I felt relieved and I got ready to fight.

"Ready when you are." I said putting my hands into fist and getting into a fighting position. I was feeling confident that maybe we could win. These intruders were no longer going to fight against one but were now were going to fight against two. Then I noticed that Guy wasn't talking to me but to the intruder that had been talking to my parents. By the time I noticed this, it was too late. Guy had hit me on my midriff with the baseball bat. I had the wind knocked out of me. I felt pain spread from my midriff to my limbs and rush to my head. It made me dizzy and I had begun to see dots in front of my eyes. I fell to my knees and looked at Guy wondering "Why?" Why did he do it? He just leaned over me and tapped my forehead with his finger and I lost the little balance I had and fell over. Just before I fainted I asked myself one question. Has my family betrayed me? Then I fell into soft darkness.
