America's Tears (1 rating) by Micah Watkins
Page 2 of 7 At the Mansion, Sanctity and Sherry had stopped crying. Sherry
stood and glared at the TV for a moment as the President spoke. After he was
done, the Japanese-Chinese woman walked up the stairs to her room. Her everyday
red skirt and white blouse were replaced by a navy blue uniform. Pins and
medals decorated it. A name tag on the left pocket read GEN. SHERRY M. THONG.
Sherry didn't bother to tie her hair up into a bun, because she liked in better
down.
She looked at herself in the mirror as she placed the Navy hat
upon her head. Then pulled on the white gloves that went with it. She smiled
briefly as she saluted the woman in the mirror. She turned back to her closet.
Two more uniforms hung in it. One name tag read in Japanese, ADMIRAL SHERRY M.
THONG, while the second uniform said in Chinese ADMIRAL SHERRY M. THONG.
She was hoping she wouldn't have to wear these uniforms that
much. Sure she had worn them to meetings and when she was told to. She just
didn't like it. The woman almost cried thinking about it.
The oriental woman walked out of her room and down the stairs.
Everyone turned in awe at how professional and beautiful she looked in the
uniform. "Wow, Sherry, you look amazing in that thing." Sanctity, her best
friend commented.
"Thanks, Sank. I figured the government would be calling soon
to ask us to wear our uniforms at all times. I even have pajamas that I'm
supposed to wear to bed." Sherry replied, as her husband entered the room from
the kitchen.
"I don't know if you'll need it tonight, but if you want you
can wear it." Mike Thong told his wife.
"How can you think of sex at a time like this? You know if we
go to war I have to represent three countries." Sherry almost scolded him in
her Japanese accent.
"Yes, and I want to be with you a lot and snuggle a lot before
we do go to war, and if we don't, then so what?" Mike replied.
"I'm the only woman in this house that is still healthy enough
to give birth without almost dying. What if I become pregnant?"
"Honey, you love to give birth though." The American said.
"True. What? You just want me to wear my hat to bed?" She
asked.
"Wear what you want. Personally, I don't care." Mike
answered.
"Personally, you know she can kick your behind." Jeremy
said.
"Which of our wives can't kick our behinds?" Mike
questioned.
"That's pretty good point. So, I guess after thinking about
it, and adding that little factor in, then my statement had no real point."
Jeremy remarked.
Mike nodded. While Jennifer, Sanctity and Sherry laughed.
"Rebecca," Sherry called still laughing. "We should probably get in our
uniforms."
Rebecca Gray, Jennifer's adopted mother entered the room,
holding a red phone to her ear. "Yes, Mister President, I understand. Sherry's
already in her uniform. I will tell them. Yes, sir. Bye." Rebecca hung up the
phone.
"That was the President, we are to get into our uniforms and
guard Jeremy as well as others aliens from terrorist attacks. Jeremy does have
college classes today, so ..." Rebecca announced as she came into the room and
stood next to the other women.
"I'll go get my uniform on." Sanctity replied before walking
down the hall.
"I should probably get mine on, too." Jennifer mumbled and
shuffled slowly up the stairs to the top level.
Rebecca followed suit without a word. Soon the three joined
Sherry and the others in the living room with their army uniforms on. "So,
who's going with me to school?" Jeremy asked. Next Page Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2001 Micah Watkins, sffworld.com. All rights reserved.
