What Went Wrong (1 rating) by Mark Wells
WHAT WENT WRONG
I wander down the street to use the telephone,
Shall I pay off my existing credit card loan?
Hammers behind my eyes like a muffled drum,
I wouldnt let the bailiffs take; I wouldnt let them come.
Birds seemed to know what was in my head,
Clouds scribbled a message of threadlike dread.
Small children were they smiling at me?
Everywhere I look people seem to look at me.
If only I had more money to spend,
I wouldnt be in a financial mess wanting to lend.
Nearly to the call box I hum a quiet song,
A BMW passes where did I go wrong?
I want to start again, to get rid of dead wood,
I want to do well at school and get the job I should.
