It took time for the grey moon dust to disperse but when it had the five men were out on to the planets surface. For some time all the men gazed out from the moon at the imprisoned Earth until Laroun started to walk to the large domes what housed the millions of inhabitants that dwelled there. As the men approached the domes, they could see holes in the glass.

"If the citizens was still here..." the Chief Medical Officer remarked.

"Yes I know but lets not think about that now, we've got to find out what happened to Earth. " Captain Laroun said.

The five men climbed through the cracked domes to see the lunar colony, virtually intact.

"Where are the bodies?" Carter stated.

"I don't know!" Laroun said cautiously, "Lets find the control centre."

The crew walked around the large lunar city, eventually the men found the control centre, a large sign stood between them and some answers, MOON COLONY CONTROL CENTRE. DO NOT ENTER WITHOUT IDENTIFICATION BADGE.

The men walked forward but the automatic doors did not open,

"Power must be out." Smith announced.

"Maybe you have to tell the door to open... Open!"

The door did not move, Laroun pulled out his laser pistol and shot the little control, the door slid open,

"There! Simple." Laroun said as he put his laser back into his holster. The men walked into the dark corridor, the emergency lighting was not very good, the red lights flickered on and off, as they approached the next set of doors all the lights went out.

"What's going on? Rubstone protested.

"I wish I knew!" Smith answered.

Chief Medical Officer Peterson was the first person to find the next door, and after prying the door open they found themselves in the control room. A short time later all the lights had been reactervating and the artificial air had begun to circulate, Laroun removed his helmet and took a deep breath of stall air, he coughed a little bit and then sat down at the computer controls,

"Well let's see what was going on while we were in deep space!"

As Laroun tapped away at the computer pages of data scrolled past the monitors the men stood in amazement at all the thing that had happened. Eventually Laroun turned around to face the other four men,

"As you may have seen Earth and the Moon Colony became allies against a common foe. To sum it up a large meteor storm was to hit the Moon and Earth it would have killed most of the people on Earth, so the two leaders devised a plan to save the people, a force field generator was set up deep inside the moon, one man was selected to switch the generator off after the storm had past....

"So what happened?" Peterson said impatiently.

"That's what we are going to find out." Laroun told the others.

The five men put their helmets back on and left the control facility and headed to the Turbo Lifts, which led to the science and manufacturing sentries. They got into the lift, a wall panel lit up; PLEASE SELECT FLOOR AND SECTION.

"Science Lab." Laroun said into the microphone that was mounted on the wall. The lift started to descend, the five men stood in silence, the short time between the surface and the lab seemed like an eternity but eventually they arrived. As the men left the lift they could see the underground lab, they walked towards the dark passage,

"I thought that we turned all the lights on!" Peterson muttered.
