A Never-Ending Journey
         by Chris Wood

The sound of your voice is getting softer every time I think about you. Like you're slowly fading away. I can't remember the date or even the year from the last time I saw you, but I remember every detail of the way you looked. The smile on your face, the beauty in your eyes. I think of it a lot sometimes to get me through the day. Because whenever I do, I know everything is worth it. Like opening a present on Christmas, your afraid of what you might think, but in the end you're never dissatisfied. If the clock of earth only ticks for one more second, I can't imagine my last image to be anyone other than you.

Like a lost hunter on his way home, this is what my journey to you brings. If I run into bear traps or unfriendly animals, it would mean nothing to me if I make my destination. If I fall off rocks and break bones, they would all be healed at first sight of you. Though my journey of a thousand miles may seem impossible to some people...and for me it's no different. But I can never turn and go home. Like a mountain climber climbing his biggest mountain, it might seem impossible along the way but if he gives up, he'll never know what he might have been able to do. Big risks require big rewards, but also big risks lead to bigger falls. If I take a big risk and have a big fall, I wouldn't regret one moment. Like an American soldier fighting for his country, he knows the risks that he's taking, but nothing can stop him from doing it.
