I'm Back!

Hey hey, the prodigal son has returned!

No, I'm not a prodigal, but it has been a while since I last blogged. I'm extremely busy right now, preparing for something I've devoted six years of my life too.

Testing for my Black Belt.

Disbelieve me if you want to, but it is very true. I'm testing for my first degree black belt in TaeKwon-Do, the native korean martial art.

so, I've been extremely busy with that, like I've already said. That and some other things are going on, and it's driving me crazy!

but anyways, the writing is going alright, I've got a chapter done in the book and I'm going for more as I push onward. I don't have a lot of time to write anymore, because every spare moment I have from work is devoted to getting stuff done for my test or setting time aside for God and his Holy Word. I try, but sometimes life gets hectic.

oh well. God knows what he's doing, and I'm just gonna go with his plan for my life.

so I guess that's about it, I'll try and check in more often!

see ya!

Updates and writing

Hey everyone,

sorry I haven't written in a while, life's been busy. So, where to start? Well, I just a couple days ago completed a transition of my book from Wordperfect 10, which I was using, to Microsoft Word 2007. took me a couple hours to manually put everything in Microsoft word, as I'm not technologically advanced enough to transfer other files. (laugh if you will, I don't mind.)

So, I still only have a prologue however. I have a good idea for a middle part in the book, but I just need to get there first. Oh well.

other than that, I've been having some problems with some friends, I'm not getting into specifics, but needless to say it has dampened some of my enthusiasim for writing, as so much of my energy is going into different outlets. man alive, life is complicated.

but hey, not much you can do.

Well, I guess I'll talk to you all later, i'll try and get something in sooner next time!

in the Lord,

Jake

the joy of writing

Alright, so I'm sittig at my computer, got a great idea in my head for the next scene in my book, and WHAM! I totally realize that, (a) it would be incompatible with my (somewhat) long term plan, and (b) I really can't get this to fit with what's going on right now.

so, I saved what I had already written (about two pages) and left the computer. now I'm back, but not writing in my book. though I might try again this afternoon, just for kicks.

yeah, gotta love writing, huh? yeah. add writers frustration to some personal problems I'm having with a couple friends, the fact that no one is calling me when I expect them to, I'm totally alone at the moment, and my softball game tonight might be cancelled, I'm pretty stressed.

oh well. Just gotta lean on the Lord. I should probably read my Bible sometime today too, just get into it. maybe read some of Proverbs. If you go through that book, it truly is a lot of common sense stuff that in our culture we think of as old fashioned or "not cool". but it truly gives us the template to live by.

well, enough of my talking, later dudes!

My Writing

Hey everyone,

Just checking in. Got home from work a while ago, not a long day, just five hour shift.

NOt much going on in the life, finishing up school this week, then celebrate on the weekend with some sleeping in and writing.

the writing is coming along well, I'm into the first chapter of the book, trying to put together the early parts that I didn't really think about before beginning. Oh well, I'll get through it.

I just really hope this attempt goes better than others before it. I'll have to have some friends and family read the manuscript if I finish it. My friends are harsh critics in their editing and other such things.

well, that's all for now, I'll talk to you all later!

The Days Are Passing Once More . . . . .

Hello,

A lot has happened in the past twenty-four hours. A lot of personal stuff that I'm not going into, but hasme quite bummed. But,life goes on. I'm hoping that I'll be able to use this to shoot up my writing, because my writing reflects my life.So Ijust really hope that I'm able to complete this book and maybe, just maybe it couldget published. That would be way cool.

So yeah, nothing much else is new in the life. Tomorrow I get priority on the computer, so I'm going to do a bit of writing and such, and hopefully get a chapter or two done.I've finished the prologue of my book, introducing the main character and one of the main antagonists, a warlock sorcerer who serves the bad guy.

well, I guess that's all for now, I'll try and get something posted in the stories section!

in the Lord,

Jake
