First Entry

Yet, another blog T_T

Oh well since the folks at sffworld have generously provided me with a free blog, I might as well make use of the space.

I'll use this space to chronicle myherculean quests to escape from the quagmire of mundanityvia sf/f novels, games, and movies.

The First Labor: MMORPG

Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games :p~~

I'm stuck in an island where the biggestbandwidth available for residential use is only 1Mbp/s. So no World of Warcraft for me T_T

I have to content myself with Ragnarok -- that cute MMO game developed by koreans.

I'm proud to say that I'm the proud pilot of a level 96 High Wizard or err sorceress to be exact. Trying to max it up to 99 is taking me forever but hopefully before the end of this year, she'll be an invincible 99er.

I never thought any game could ever be developed that could suck me in like Ragnarok. At first it was kinda boring -- boink some cute porings, and you level up. Then I discovered -- headgears! Several headgears after, I'm hooked.

Ragnarok is like playing virtual doll house with a virtual doll that can freeze monsters into popsicles then fry em with lightning balls. (wheee!)

Since its considered a crime tohack and slashobnoxious people in real life, I sublimate my aggressionsin the virtual world. And there I can freeze/fry monsters and occasionaly otherplayers to my hearts content. (ah, bliss)

They said that playing violent games could trigger violence in teenagers, yet it cannot be denied that virtual games do provide a safe avenue for aggression. There's always therapy of course, and yoga and meditation -- but its not half as enjoyable as freeze/frying virtualmonstersT_T

So in between deadlines, and business deals and meetings, I make sure I can sneak in a few hours of Ragnarok time, even if I have to lose sleep for a couple of nights :D
