This book is one of the funniest and yet moving books that I have read.
Sixty-six year old Dolores Claiborne is the long suffering 'personal companion' of Vera Donovan, a literal Lady of the Manor. When Vera is found dead at the bottom of her stairs with Dolores standing over her with a rolling pin, she is immediately suspected of murder.
What unravels is the story of how two women became the best of friends and yet never really got on, and how both had something to do with their own husbands' death.
With plenty of 'dust bunnies'and empty wells, this is one of King's bestselling novels.
