Submitted by Nora (Jul 02, 2008)This was a random pick from a prolific fantasy author...I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely magical, but I really thought it was more teenage angst about growing up than magic. Talia's special ability to empathize isn't, to me, being in the medical field, something you can brandish like a weapon but she made it seem pretty fatal, especially in the 2nd book. I love the horses in the book, and they are so revered.
But otherwise a really fun, fast, read. Love the character development. Plot is great, and her writing style is excellent. I would definitely read all the books in the trilogy again if I had a choice. The best part of the books is the writing style and characters; you really can imagine them all very vividly. There are some sinfully hot scenes in the book which also make it fun to read!
