Submitted by Helaina (Dec 10, 2005)Exiles honour takes place before the arrows of queen trilogy and if you haven’t read them then this is not a good place to start, as you will not understand half of the plot. This is Alberich’s tale and if you’ve already read some of Mercedes lackeys books you’ll understand that Alberich is a gruff character that is seen as rather intimidating. This book gives insight to where Alberich came from, how he became a herald and what he did to become a part of the every day life of the collegium. This book also sets the scene for the following books, which is useful.
As we read the book we come to understand that Alberich is a complex character that isn’t always interested in weapons and fighting. We learn that he has likes and dislikes and a strong sense of honour. I found this book enjoyable and a good read but was not as gripped by this book as I was with some of the others.
