I have long been a fan of Pratchett and I have to say I don't believe there is another book in the fantastic Discworld series that quite matches Reaper Man for its sheer laugh out loud qualities. The plot itself is humourously bizzare. Death of the Discworld (an anthropomorphic personification - think grim reaper) gets made redundant by the auditors of reality. As a 'leaving gift' he is granted some time to 'live' and gets a job working on a farm. There's a harvest to gather in...spot the joke in title. Meanwhile in the bustling city of Ankh-Morpork, Windle Poons the wizard is due to die, but with Death being out of action and a suitable candidate not yet selected for replacement, Windle Poons will have to wait a while...as a Zombie!

Quarreling wizards, the birth of a shopping center (yep)and a strange tall figure who's rather handy with a scythe, this book is a must read for anyone, fans of the series or newcomers alike.

This is a must read. A friend of mine introduced me to the Pratchett series some years ago and I am still thanking him. This was the first of the many books I was to enjoy and love. A warning though. DO NOT try to eat while reading these books!!! You will be laughing so hard you might accidently choak. Can't say I did not try to warn you. Death takes a holiday and in Diskworld, the end result will leave you in stiches. Love it you will......
