Star Scroll, The by Melanie Rawn

What is up with the sunrunner deal? Why are they so important? Most of the book is centered around them and everyone wants to marry one for they're 'usefulness' but they never seem to DO anything? In the books plenty of the people are afraid of sunrunners and most steer clear, but the idea of a sunrunner prince frightens them? They don't really do much but kill with Fire and about three times a book they talk by light. Its just stupid and I don't recommend it in the least.
