Mr. Beagle is a fabulous writer, "The Last Unicorn" being one of his most famous works. The story is basically about the travels of the innocent unicorn to find the rest of her kind. Along the way, she is befriended by Schmendrick, a magician who is failing at his craft, and Molly Grue, a bold woman who understands the ways of the unicorn as well as the rest of the world. The story itself is full of detail; Beagle takes care in presenting the character's emotions and actions. Also, the book contains a great deal of philisophy, which makes "The Last Unicorn" all the more enchanting. I recommend "The Last Unicorn" to anyone who enjoys a story written in a beautiful usage of language, or to the people who simply love getting absorbed in a good book.

The main reason I read the book besides I love unicorns is that I saw the movie about a million times.Sadly it took away effects of the book. Although the book was wonderful anyone who loves unicorns or fansty books must read this book!

I first wanted to read this book because I had watched the movie when I was very little. I don't
remember very much about the movie, except the beginning part about the unicorn being the last of
its kind, and the Red Bull. The unicorn lives in her forest peacefully until she hears a group of
hunters saying that she is alone in the world. She goes on a quest to find the rest of the unicorns,
and on the way she joins with a magician who cannot do real magic and a woman named Molly Grue from
a band of outlaws. A very good book, and I would recommend it to any fantasy reader.
