The "Lord of the Rings" was my first real passion. I saw the movies, and tried to read the books. I couldn't. I was used to the shorter, easier books (I was in elementary). I first read the full book in sixth grade. I loved it. When people say long-winded, I think descriptive to the point of brilliance. That's not to say I don't occasionally skip a song, or a bit of description. Still, when he describes something, you SEE it. You don't just think you do, or get a rough idea. This book is the grandchild of "The Oddyssey", which is the first of the 'epics'. I am reaeding it for my... third time... or fourth. I love it, and will probably read it a few more times. That isn't to say I don't read other books. This one is just the best of them.
