This book absolutely captivated me! I couldn’t put it down. I've read this book at least 100 times and each time Joanne Bertin takes my breath away with her magnificent characters and twisting plot lines. The way that she paints the picture in your mind, and the way that she writes in such a way that you can really compare to things like Maurynna and Linden's sadness for leaving each other or Raven's jealousy for Linden. It is PURE genius. I simply cannot wait until she comes out with the Bard's Oath book. I am positive that she will not let us, the fans of the series, down with her next installment.

Awesome story (very hard to put down, I stayed up way too late many nights enchanted with the story), with a great continuance from "The Last Dragonlord". Very nice twists and easy to follow storyline, I love the characters. By the end of the book I feel like I almost know the characters as actual people. The author deals with emotions and relationships very well and as an aspiring writer myself I feel there's a lot to learn from her. I can't wait to read "Bard's Oath".

I really loved what Bertin did with the characters. I liked the new relationships that all the character had to deal with and the old ones that were reborn. I did find myself setting the book down a lot more in the last 30 or so pages. I'm not sure if I just didn't want the book to end or if it was not how I wanted things to work out. I will have to say that I can't wait to start "Bard's Oath". I miss my friends.
