The Crimson Petal and The White by Michael Faber

This novel put me in a time capsule and sent me right back to Victorain London. I was grabbed on page one and didn't let go until the final word. The attention to detail and authenticity of events have made "The Crimson Petal and the White" my favourite novel ever.
I sat staring at the back page for minutes when it was done, and I wanted more. There is no more at this time, but I hope Michael Faber will delight his fams with a sequel. In the mean time, I will read and read again.

Having just finished this book, i'm quite bothered that it came to my attention only recently. It was a tantalizing read from start to end! I am quite annoyed at how un-put-downable it was, as I spent several sleepless nights turning pages! I read until my eyes closed in order to reach the conclusion... alas, upon reaching the conclusion I was disappointed to be finished this marvel. Where is the sequel, Michael? Why do you torment me so?
