Submitted by Matt (Apr 06, 2006)This book gave me mixed feelings. From the set-up of the previous four books in the series, I thought it would be absolutely amazing and mind-boggling. Perhaps I expected too much, but it wasn't amazing. It was pretty good though... I enjoyed the plot twists, character development, and detail. However, by the end of the story I actually grew tiresome of so many plot twists as something ALWAYS seemed to go wrong. It was quite annoying.
I was expecting a huge, miraculous ending, but for a book that makes every problem so complicated, I felt the ending was rather simple... and the concluding message was not one that was consistently repeated throughout the other novels, or even this book. I was somewhat frustrated by the vague, open-ended conclusion.
Don't get me wrong, this was a good book. Perhaps I was expecting too much... But I still enjoyed it, despite my picky pet-peeves.
