This is a fine marriage between far future sf and film noir. The widowmaker, a aging bounty hunter in the 50th century is dying of a rare disease. To get money for his cure Doctors clone him so he can use his talents to gain more money. His clone has all his deadly skills but none of his experiences.The clone is sent to kill a ruthless hitman. But when he meets with the hitman;he makes the mistake of falling in love with the hitman's beautiful mistress. This sets the scene for treachery, betrayal and violent and tragic end.
