Gemquest: The Shards by Gary Wassner

I was so totally engrossed in this book after finally getting a copy that it reminded me of the days of reading the early Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series books. I sat and read it cover to cover in basically one sitting. The characters feel real, descriptions bring the world to life and the story keeps getting bigger and better. I hear there is a fourth coming soon, I will be in line for it.

This is one of the best series I have read in the fantasy genre in a long time. However, it was not easy to purchase the last two books as they were not in stock at the bookstores. Either way, the wait and the trouble to get them was worth it. This is the type of writing and the type of story which one can lose themselves in. Epic fantasy at its best. Love, war, good, evil, moral dilemmas, faith, it has everything. I can't wait to see what happens next.
