Twenty years after the alien fleet came to Earth and interrupted World War II, the colonization fleet arrives, only to find that the invasion fleet has NOT subjugated the planet, but has, instead, settled for an uneasy sort of truce with humanity. Now a new set of aliens must learn why Earth is so difficult to deal with. All of the familiar characters are back, along with some new ones -- and a whole new set of problems for both sides. (Who would have thought that the alien's ginger addiction, which was troublesome in the earlier books would -- now that female aliens have arrived -- proved to have a profound and very upsetting effect on the alien's sexual habits?)
