In this fourth book in Katharine Kerr's Deverry series we finally learns to know Bardek a little better. Jill and Salamander goes there in their search for Rhodry that has been sold as a slave, this after his mind has been broken so can't even remember his own name. Although this is the main story in the book, it is also tightly woven with Nevyn's battle against the dark dweomer, and of course the big question, will he get Jill to start studying the dweomer? Great book in a great series!
