I just finished Glen's latest installment of the Garrett novels that began with Sweet Silver Blues. I highly recommend this series to all film noir fans. It has the dark characters of classic movies like The Big Sleep and Mike Hammer. When I read the first installments I encouraged Glen to continue on with it. He told me he had only planned to write six, I'm glad he changed his mind. The stories are rich in detail and in characterizations and have a wonderful touch of humer in them. They are decent mysteries on top of that. I find them to as good or better than his Black Company books. Read them, you'll be glad you did.
