Wow! What a journey, what an ending, Arena is a must read. I saw Arena as a mirror reflecting back the truth of our existence. It was a marvelous adventure with just the right amount of tension and then release. It was like an exciting aria that crescendos to a climax only to ebb away to bring you back once again. The progression of inner and physical struggle, perseverance and then rest beautifully parallels our walk to spiritual awareness and subsequent maturity or stagnation. Each battle and segment of the journey heralded a new truth discovered. The truths in Arena are many but are subtlety woven into the fabric of the story and are not preachy and overbearing. This is a story that will stick with you and readers will ultimately decide what its message is to them. But if you are the type of reader who just likes a good, exciting story, you will also enjoy Arena. It is jam packed with excitement and even a bit of romance. You'll fall in love with Arena, I did.

Have you ever found yourself on an adventure that you never wanted or asked to be on? Well, Callie Hayes thought that she was signing up for a simple science experiment to make fifty dollars when she finds herself literally transported out of this world. Dumped into a dangerous alien world where good and evil forces are strangely at work Callie finds herself in a tangle of situations which all seem to be against her. The instructions were simple, follow the manual and stay on the road. But, as in our world things are not always as they appear nor are instructions always what you think they will be. Callie, due to certain fears that control her from the very beginning, finds herself on the wrong path and caught up with the wrong people. Or are they the right people? This is the type of thinking that you get pulled into throughout the book. Who are the 'good guys,' and will Callie ever get out of this nightmare of the Arena? Each step of Callie's journey is a journey that soon becomes your own. What choices would I make in this situation? Who should I believe? Is the Benefactor, who is in charge of this whole project, good or extremely twisted and amoral? This is an intriguing and suspenseful book that will capture your mind, heart, and emotions from the minute Callie enters this alien land. Whether you like science fiction or not this is a must read. I loved it.
