This book is a very good book. Like the rest of the shannara series it uses rich and very well thought out detail and has an intresting plot. This is one of those books that you set down and still think about for days. One where you can pick a character and put yourself in their shoes and UNDERSTAND the thoughts and actions of them. Their logic and emotions seem to make the character alive which is the most excellent thing about his works. Terry understands the mind well enough to create his own versions into real people, human or no. This book begins an excellent series.
